How is our freeze-dried food packaged?
In order to ensure our products remain fresh while in storage, all of our meals come in six-serving Mylar pouches that have an Oxygen Absorber inside, have been Nitrogen Flushed to get rid of excess oxygen, and are Triple Sealed keep out oxygen. These long-lasting pouches are then stored in heavy-duty, stackable polyethylene buckets that are perfect for storage and offer another layer of protection from rodents and water damage. Each bucket has convenient handles or grips for easy transport and weighs less than 40 pounds.

How long is the shelf life for freeze-dried and dehydrated food?
When stored correctly, all of our meals can be stored up to 25 years, worry free, without deteriorating quality or the need for rotation. Residual oxygen levels in food storage is the main determining factor of how long the food will last.  With our unique system of packaging with an oxygen absorber and a nitrogen flush, our food pouches have residual oxygen levels well below 2%, the minimum standard in long term food storage.

    Do you offer vegetarian options?
Actually, all our meals are vegetarian friendly, other then our freeze dried meat selections. Real meat contains fatty oils and amino acids that break down over time and do not retain their full nutritional value. Legacy Premium Food Storage products will hold their nutritional value longer and provide more health benefits to the person consuming it than other food storage companies' offerings. Best of all, you won’t even be able to taste the difference, and our meals can be enjoyed by everyone.
